About Our Client
Our client is a well-established retailer operating within the hardware and DIY sector. They offer a broad range of DIY, tools, and general hardware products and place a strong emphasis on customer service and product knowledge. Due to a confidential requirement, they are now seeking an experienced DIY Sales Assistant to join their team.
About the Role
This role sits within the DIY Department and is focused on providing hands-on sales support to customers. The successful candidate will have previous retail experience in a similar environment, such as hardware, tools, or DIY, and will be comfortable working on their own initiative.
The position requires someone with a good, practical understanding of DIY products who can confidently advise customers and support sales within the department.
Key Responsibilities

Work within the DIY department, providing knowledgeable sales support to customers

Advise customers on DIY, tools, and general hardware products

Actively sell products and support customer purchasing decisions

Work independently within the department on a day-to-day basis

Maintain a tidy, well-presented, and organised department area

Assist customers with queries and product selection

Support general store operations as required
Ideal Candidate Profile

Previous retail experience in a similar role (hardware, tools, or DIY)

Good knowledge of DIY products, tools, and general hardware

Ability to work on own initiative

Customer-focused with an ability to sell and engage with customers

Reliable, capable, and practical in approach

Gardening knowledge is an advantage but not essential
